Readymade Blinds

Readymade blinds are blinds that you can buy from nearly all shops that sell window dressings, DIY shops, and home-style shops across the country. They are readily available in many colours, effects and styles, as well as many different sizes.

Readymade blinds are usually much cheaper than custom made blinds, and it is possible to buy them to fit most windows. If you have standard window sizes, then these can prove a very cost effective option. They are available in many different styles including roller blinds, Venetian blinds, vertical blinds and roman blinds. There are also other styles available. Readymade blinds are suitable for all rooms, and depending on the style can either block out light completely when required, or provide a light filter. They are available in a variety of materials with most being easy to wipe clean.

If you are buying readymade blinds, make sure that you measure your windows accurately, as it is likely, that if your window is not a standard measurement, you will have to cut the blind the fit your window. If this is the case, then make sure that you buy the next size up, and not try to ‘make do’ with one that is just a centimetre too narrow or short. You may find that if you have unusually long windows that you may have difficulty in finding a blind to fit. However, most readymade blinds come in many widths and lengths.

As already stated, readymade blinds can be an extremely cost effective option and so are good for people on a budget. However, you may need to be prepared to put in some time and effort into fitting your readymade blind if you are unable to find the correct size. When buying your blind, it is advisable to ask for advice on this if you have not tackled fitting a blind before.
